The Medway Touch Association is looking to continue to support local sports development bodies and schools to encourage children and adults from all backgrounds to play sports.

Trevor Jefferies created and ran a rugby clubs  community coaching programme for 5 years and is looking to continue to provide the support and encouragement to local sporting activities.

The Medway Touch Schools Touch Programme has been set up to provide a competitive outlet for primary and secondary schools

Cup competitions are also supported by afterschool leagues

Medway Touch ran it's first community coaching events in June on behalf of Burnt Oak Primary in Gillingham in June/July

St Andrews School & Halling School. Medway touch also showcased touch and ultimate at the Medway Mile afternoon event.

August 2009

Day rugby camp  on behalf of Greenacre Partnership.

Weekly have a go sessions featuring touch and ultimate held at Chatham Grammar School for Boys. All sessions were open to the general public

September 2009

Lordswood Juniors, Parkwood and Kingfisher join the MTA patnership with afterschool clubs being run for terms 1 & 2 (September/December) 

Walderslade Girls are also taking part in a touch development day on 28th September.

Ultimate is also being showcased at Copperfields Park on 26th September.

October 2009

Ongoing coaching sessions with Lordswood, Parkwood and Kingfisher including support at the mini youth games tag rugby event

Welcome to St Marys Island School to our community schools partnership. MTA is running weekly sessions each Friday afternoon and supporting the school at the mini youth games

Weekly indoor touch,ultimate,dodgeball and fitness training every Monday evening in support of Medway Sports Development "Medway gets Active" programme

Delivering ongoing coaching touch afterschool sessions at Kingfisher, Lordswood and Hempstead  for the Greenacre Partnership. Also mentoring St Marys Island as part of Medway Sports Developments teachers cpd programme.

We are delighted to be able to support the MEND programme and deliver an hours free touch coaching to local participants  

December 2009

Continued support for Kingfisher, Lordswood and Hempstead Junior school afterschool touch clubs. St Andrews School also benefitted from a multiskills coaching session.

Fort Pitt Grammer, Walderslade Girls School and Warren Wood afterschool clubs. Every Saturday morning the Touch Academy.

St Marys Island, St Andrews, Warren Wood, Fort Pitt, Walderslade Girls and St Margarets School Rainham all receiving additional coaching support and the Medway Touch Academy continues.

23th February will see the inaugural primary schools touch fixtures

March 2010

Afterschool league continued as well as running sessions for Walderslade Girls, Warren Wood, St Andrews and Fort Pitt. The afterschool league ran at various locations and in various conditions!

April 2010

St Andrews benefitted from further coaching support. In addition an Easter touch rugby and multiskills camp for Greenacre SSP ran with 13 boys taking part. 20th April saw further support for the Medway Sports Development CPD programme with an hour and a half session on tag rugby for teaching assistants.

24th April will saw the Medway School Cup taking place at Fort Pitt Grammar School. A fantastic day of touch in the sunshine.
